The Argyles

The Argyles formed at The University of Texas at Austin in 1982 as an original power pop band that soon jam-packed Austin’s legendary live music venues Clubfoot and Steamboat, and other clubs around Texas for many years with adoring fans. The original band members eventually graduated from The University of Texas, but after their popular original music stint, the band evolved into one of the most successful and versatile private event bands in Texas.

The Argyles is comprised of some of Austin’s premiere musicians — fiery guitar, killer horns, undeniable drums and bass, and world-class vocals by male lead, Tje Austin, and female lead, Lex Land — both favorites on NBC’s The Voice. They perform 100% live without backing tracks or electronic manipulation with the determination to make your event unforgettable.

With a solid musical foundation formed from The Beatles, The Who, and The Rolling Stones stemming from their early days, along with great R&B, soul and funk influences from greats such as The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and The Isley Brothers, The Argyles have a unique chemistry and artistry that allows the group to cover a broad spectrum of genres that their audiences can’t resist. Their sets can contain an impressive range and smooth trajectory of Motown, R&B, Top 40 favorites, jazz and jazz standards, soul, funk, disco, hip hop, country, Latin, reggae and classic rock. Everything they perform, in collaboration with their clients’ preferences, is for the sole purpose to fill the dance floor with fun, exciting and memorable entertainment.

The Argyles have played nearly 2000 private events for over two decades and have shared the stage or opened shows regionally or nationally for Joe Ely, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Lee Greenwood, Jimmie Vaughan, Etta James, En Vogue, The Producers, and performed on compilation albums with Willie Nelson, Ezra Charles, and The LeRoi Brothers.

See why The Argyles have been so successful at entertaining for so many years! They have the experience and artistry to custom-tailor the perfect music for your next event.
